Leighton Properties is excited to be moving to its new 6 Star Green Star – Office Design v2 rated HQ precinct in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley which provides a fresh, new urban approach to business.
HQ is a joint venture development between Leighton Properties and Leighton Contractors that delivers 44,000sqm of A-grade commercial office and retail space, along with restaurants, cafes, wine bars and a public piazza to the area. HQ will be the ‘jewel in the crown’ for the rejuvenated Fortitude Valley.
Leighton Properties Executive Director and Queensland State Manager Andrew Borger said the move from the CBD Eagle Street offices to the next up-and-coming business district at Fortitude Valley was a natural transition for the company and an opportunity to get in at the early stages of the area’s growth.
“Leighton Properties has delivered more than 80,000sqm of sustainable development in the area and Fortitude Valley now offers significant facilities for both business and employees. Our relocation allows us to harness the benefits of the precinct we have created and demonstrates our continued commitment to the area’s revitalisation.
“We have created an ecologically and environmentally sensitive workplace for our staff with a 6 Star Green Star – Office Design v2 rating by the Green Building Council of Australia which includes the creation of a $2 million sub tropical boulevard and a dedicated bicycle centre with 260 bike racks.
The lively retail facilities, public transport options and connections with the CBD make the precinct an ideal business hub and with over $10 billion* worth of transport and other investment occurring in and around the area, it provides significant opportunities for future growth.”
An official opening of HQ will be held on July 14, 2010 with Councilor Amanda Cooper officiating the event.
Leighton Properties has established itself as a world leader in ecologically sustainable development. In Brisbane alone it has delivered four major 5 and 6 Star Green Star rated developments over the last three years including 400 George Street in the CBD and Green Square, the landmark project in Fortitude Valley incorporating the largest co-generation plant constructed in Australia.
The strong workbook in Queensland continues with the Mosaic residential development in Fortitude Valley, the world-leading King George Central project in Brisbane’s CBD, the significant mixed-use precincts of Hamilton Harbour and Southbank Townsville and the recent opening of the highly awarded Viridian Noosa Resort.
