World-renowned steakhouse Meat & Wine Co. is set to make its Brisbane debut, after signing on as a major retail tenant at Leighton Properties and Leighton Contractors’ joint venture Fortitude Valley landmark project, HQ.
Award-winning Meat & Wine Co. is the second high profile restaurant slated for the precinct, after Siana announced it would open sister venue “Siana Valley” at HQ in April of this year.
Meat & Wine Co. is an international concept-dining sensation, with successful restaurants in London, Athens, Dubai, Bahrain, Abu Dhabi, China, Singapore and South Africa.
Specialising in top quality steaks sourced from premium Australian breeders of Angus cattle, the two-storey restaurant will also delight with a gluten-free menu, seafood platters and an extensive wine list.
Karima Group (parent company of Meat & Wine Co.) Company Director John Sahyoun said he was very excited to branch into the Brisbane market after the popularity of their Darling Harbour, Paramatta (Sydney) and Southbank (Melbourne) restaurants.
“Fortitude Valley is the cultural and entertainment hub of Brisbane and when we were looking to expand into this city, we discovered that the Valley is also one of Brisbane’s best dining precincts,” Mr Sahyoun said.
“Meat & Wine Co. is recognised as one of the best steakhouses in the world so being in the heart of this precinct is a great position for us.
“Our restaurant is all about providing a unique and exceptionally enjoyable steakhouse experience that caters for meat lovers in a sophisticated yet relaxed environment.”
Meat & Wine Co. will cater to growing consumer demand for high-quality international gourmet restaurant chains such as Wagamama and Vapiano.
Leighton Properties Executive Director and State Manager Queensland, Andrew Borger, said that HQ now had two renowned restaurants on board and more exciting announcements in the pipeline.
“The strong level of interest we’ve received suggests that Fortitude Valley is rapidly becoming an attractive alternative to the traditional CBD location,” Mr Borger said.
“There is a growing difference between dining in the city versus the Valley – one is a corporate location whilst the other is now a seven day destination for locals and tenants in a more exciting atmosphere,” Mr Borger said.
“With gourmet restaurants, wine bars, and a subtropical boulevard leading into a large public plaza, HQ will be active day into night, and is set to be Brisbane’s new destination for dining and entertainment.”
Leighton Contractors Northern Region General Manager Darren Weir said they were proud to be delivering yet another 6 Star Green Star development in the Valley.
“HQ’s world leadership green credentials have made it an attractive proposition for both commercial and retail tenants,” said Mr Weir.
“Not only will it be a greener, healthier workplace for approximately 3,000 staff – HQ’s exciting retail mix will make it a lively hub for both professionals and visitors to enjoy after work drinks, casual meals and fine dining.”
Located on the corner of Brookes and Wickham Street, the $300 million HQ project will deliver 44,000 square metres of A-Grade, 6 Star Green Star* prime commercial office and retail space.
Leasing is well advanced, with only 5,000 sqm of commercial space remaining.
Meat & Wine Co. has signed a lease term of 10 years at HQ’s North Tower and will occupy 382 m2 over 2 levels, including a large outdoor licensed area.
The lease was negotiated by Michael Maguire of Ray White Retail.
