HBF in negotiations to relocate to Kings Square

Health insurer HBF is currently in negotiations with Leighton Properties to purchase premises in the new Kings Square precinct on Wellington Street. The 13,000 sqm property will replace HBF’s current headquarters in Murray Street, which HBF plans to sell.
In recent years HBF’s capacity to service its 900,000 members has increasingly been constrained by its ageing premises which it has occupied since 1980. Under its new five year plan HBF plans to evolve into a health partner for members and the new premises will enable it to offer a range of health-related services.
Kings Square is part of the WA government’s strategic Perth City Link project and is a leading example of a mixed use precinct combining environmentally sustainable design, with health, home and places of work. The precinct features amenities such as gym, childcare, open space and exceptional public transport. The recently opened Perth Arena has commenced the transformation of the precinct with continued upgrades programmed for Wellington Street over the coming years.
HBF follows a number of other CBD users who have selected Kings Square as their preferred place to locate.
Subject to contract signing later this year, Leighton Properties is programming to complete and HBF hopes to move to the Kings Square site in 2015.
