Vale to a Great Colleague

Our friend and colleague, Bill Service, sadly passed away in October 2011.
Bill joined the Leighton Group in 1979, firstly at Leighton Contractors where he held the title of Manager, NSW Building. Bill retired from Leighton Contractors in 1998 and subsequently joined Leighton Properties where he worked across all projects utilising his extensive project delivery expertise, particularly in NSW and QLD.
From Bill’s early days at the Sydney Opera House through many challenging projects developed and constructed by the Leighton Group he demonstrated a deep and unwavering passion for quality, value and excellence.
One of his most endearing qualities was his commitment to ensuring ideas were worked through and proven in detail whilst always seeking alternative ways of doing things to achieve enhanced or winning outcomes. He loved his work and remained actively involved with Leighton Properties until late 2010.
In the latter years, Bill gave freely of his knowledge and experience in mentoring younger colleagues. This will be his lasting legacy. Bill will be sorely missed and certainly not forgotten.
Our sincere condolences go to Bill’s family and his wife Penny.
