WRAP apartments progressing well
David Mitchell 22 Jun 2012
Building works carried out by Contexx builders at WRAP apartments in Melbourne are progressing well, with demolition and site clearance completed and the tower crane erected.
The City Road gantry has been placed, fulfilling the dual role of protecting public space and providing support for the existing two storey façade, which is being retained and integrated into the final building. The piling has been completed, with pile caps and footings underway. Piling at the site is the some of the longest in Australia.
In March this year, Leighton Properties purchased a 50% stake in the development, joining developers and financiers Qualitas Property Partners, Baron Corporation and Baracon to develop the 41 level tower.
The development at 133 - 139 City Road consists of 294 apartments, with 90% of the apartments now sold and two retail opportunities on the ground floor. Completion is due mid 2014.
